Banish The Bland - Encona Sauces bring you Peruvian Street Food and a Giveaway

Encona sauces wanted to introduce their new range of sauces and in particular the brand new Peruvian Amarillo chilli sauce and also to tell a story of Peruvian street food.

Julio Brujis from Panka Peruvian Food demonstrated some of his favourite Peruvian inspired recipes for us.
We made Cebiche 'Aji Amarillo' a fish salad with onion, garlic, loads of lime, fresh coriander, ginger and a Peruvian corn called 'choclo' which is apparently available in some specialty supermarkets in the frozen section.  I loved the size of the choclo corn kernels, but a little tough for my taste however I bet fresh they are wonderful.  I will have to try to get some seeds and grow my own!!  The star of this dish however was the Encona Amarilli chili sauce, fruity with a real background chili hint and immediately addictive!!
The second recipe was a simple Seafood dish similar to a risotto but using Quinoa and called a Seafood Quinotto.
I attended the event with my blogger friend Simply Sensational Food who is vegetarian and she prepared two very similar dishes but using a selection of veggies instead of the fish and prawns.  Have a look at her account here.
Encona sauces are as true to the local as you can possibly get and they have kindly let me offer you a chance to win a bundle of their new sauces and an apron to feature where the sauces originated from.
To enter follow the instructions below.

  3. I had an opportunity to taste Peruvian dishes during my recent visit there. Loved the Peruvian food .. nice and tangy dishes. I tried out aji amarillo at home too.. I had tasted the Cebishe / Cevishe .. yes the size of the corn kernels was amazingly large.. never seen them anywhere before.
